Glen Abbey neighbourhood is one of the largest neighbourhoods in Oakville. It is bounded by Upper Middle Road, to the north, QEW to the South Dorval Drive on the East and Bronte Road to the West. First houses in this neighbouhrood were built in 1981 and full development was done by 1990. This “wooded” neighbourhood has over 70km of trails and majority of homes are detached homes on larger lots. However, Glen Abbey  has perfect smaller homes too, including townhouses (freehold and condominium), link homes and condominium apartments as well.

Glen Abbey is famous internationally thanks to it’s own Glen Abbey Golf Course designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1976.

Recently, Oakville patrons are fighting current owner and developer, to prevent rezoning that would allow over 3000 new units. That development would create Irreparable damage to a notable Heritage site and it would make OUR Oakville less desirable community. Also, it will increase the risk for flood plain and watershed issues related to the Sixteen Mile Creek.

Glen Abbey Neighbourhood has seven schools including public and catholic schools.
